About this course

Data products are an innovative, modern way of packaging curated datasets. They can be saved, published, searched for, and shared across teams. As such, data products are part of a paradigm shift toward viewing data-as-a-product. This methodological shift allows for increased sharing and collaboration by enhancing self-service access to data.

In this course, you will explore data products and investigate the various ways in which they change the landscape of traditional ETL pipelines. Particular attention will be paid to how data products impact both data producers and data consumers, as well as the wider, methodological approach known as data-as-a-product that underpins this change. This includes a description of other Starburst features that use product thinking in their approach to data, including Global Search, Catalog Explorer, and Built-in Access Control (BIAC).
